No one dislikes endless rules and regulations
more than I. but so much needless confusion delay, and other problems have been caused at previous Shifnal auctions
that we really must insist o the following;
Vendors; Please take your lots to the stage door at the rear of the hall and not through the auditorium. Do not take them onto the stage but place them in the room behind to be sorted into numerical order by the stewards.
Buyers: We really cannot do with people milling about on the stage whilst the stewards are sorting out the items so please be patient. You will have ample time to view the lots once the auction has been set up. If everyone will play fair by the above, those of us at the sharp end of the auction will have a much easier task and, hopefully, more time to ourselves to enjoy the rest of the event! C.E.M
Due to extra activities at the Sambrook Church, the village hall there is sometimes unavailable, which is why we have added the auction site of Wetwood. We are sure that you will like this venue, which lies only about 6 miles from Sambrook and will be much the same travelling distance for most visitors. It is also still very handy for anyone wishing to stay overnight at Eileen Mitchell's Bed & Breakfast establishment - you can call her on 01952 550256. The map below gives easy directions of how to reach Wetwood Village Hall, but here is some more local information for travellers coming from the M1 motorway. As you enter Eccleshall on the A5013 you come to a mini-island where you bear right. 100 yards further on is another mini-island where you bear left onto the B5026. In about 3 miles you come to Croxton village, at the far end of which is a fairly sharp right hand bend, by the church, before a winding down-hill stretch of about a quarter mile. At the bottom of this is a sharp right-hand bend before a quarter-mile climb. As soon as the road levels out you wilt see the Hall on your right hand side- There is parking space in front and behind the hall, and a car park opposite,

Here is a photo from a recent Exposition at Sambrook:-

| Earlier this year we were asked by a lady to sell a quantity of old radio items that had been left in a cellar by her late father. She said that she would be satisfied if she received £20 for the lot. One of them, after extensive cleaning, turned out to be a Marconi Scientific Instruments receiver, circa 1921 . This was sold at our Auction of 28th. May for £2,800! It was a great pleasure for me to be able to telephone the lady to inform her of her good luck; it doesn't happen very often but how wonderful it is when it occurs. (No doubt the buyer was delighted too). | ![]() |
