The Magazine

If you are interested in vintage radio you may already have heard something of our magazine. Now we cordially invite you to sample it for yourself, believing that you will agree with our readers that it is by far the best of the vintage   radio   publications,   with   its   authoritative yet friendly articles and its devotion to the "feel" of the period with which   it deals. This is not a `coffee table " magazine with merely superficial appeal.

Editor and Contributors

The   Editor,   Chas. E. Miller,   has   been engaged professionally   in radio work since 1948 and in technical journalism since the early 1970's. His book,  " Valve Radio & Audio Repair Handbook" (available from The Radiophile for £23 including first class postage)   is the definitive work on the subject.

The various writers who contribute to The Radiophile are also well qualified in their fields and   provide a valuable store of   information for the readers.

 Not just a magazine!

Service sheets and Manuals

Nor is this all:   The Radiophile also offers its    subscribers a service that is unmatched elsewhere, for its large library of service sheets and manuals covers a vast range of makes and models and these are available as photo-copies at very reasonable prices - typically half or less than those charged by other suppliers.     As an additional service to readers, they may place small advertisements in the magazine free of charge.

Bake-O-Bryte

The price of Bake-O-Bryte is £2 per tube or £2.65 by post.

Expositions and Auctions

The Radiophile operates several Vintage Radio Expositions each year at which readers meet to buy, sell or exchange equipment - and chat - in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere markedly different from other such functions
At the Spring Exposition is held the original Concours d'Él é gance for Vintage Radio Receivers, with awards for the best entries.
This and the early Autumn Exposition are held at Shifnal in Shropshire, close to the Ironbridge Gorge, the Cosford Aerospace Museum and one of the largest Garden Centres in the Midlands.
In July our Summer Special is held in the picturesque village of Sambrook, again in Shropshire. Visitors to this event are invited to come in period costume, with a prize awarded for the best, and there is another prize for the best portable radio receiver.
In late Autumn an East Coast Special Exposition is held at the village of Cowbit, just off the new A16 by-pass three miles south of Spalding in Lincolnshire.

All events include vintage radio auction sales for readers who wish to dispose of equipment, whilst the Radiophile's Special Auctions are fast establishing themselves as the premier sales for the disposal or purchase of good quality vintage radio equipment, both domestic and military. These are held at Sambrook and can be organised at short notice when required.      Collection and storage of items can be arranged if required   You are cordially invited to discuss with us your personal requirements, in strict confidence.   Our Auction Service Listing scheme brings you, for an annual subscription of only f 10,   all the catalogues and reports, these latter giving all prices made by items.
